Promact is looking for a skilled and motivated Data Engineer who has hands-on experience with Snowflake, Microsoft Azure, and SQL Server. This role involves working on cloud-based data pipelines and warehouse solutions for one of our long-standing clients. The ideal candidate should have experience managing data workflows, automation, validation, and system configurations with a focus on stability, security, and performance. 

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities 

  • Manage Snowflake data warehouse including database health, user permissions, and performance 
  • Develop and maintain ETL processes as per client requirements; this may include tools like Matillion 
  • Configure and maintain data import, cleansing, deduplication, error correction, and raw-to-clean mapping routines 
  • Build and manage automated data pipelines in Snowflake: design, implement, test, debug, and deploy 
  • Create reusable and configurable metadata-driven solutions in Snowflake 
  • Automate testing and deployment in Snowflake integrated with Azure 
  • Configure and maintain SQL Server and Azure SQL databases including settings like max size, auto grow, and backups 
  • Set up and manage user access and permissions for SQL Server and Snowflake (select/read/write) 
  • Create Azure alerts based on client-defined thresholds and build dashboards for monitoring SQL-related events 
  • Assist in performance vs. cost analysis as data volume and infrastructure scale over time 

Skills (Must Have) 

  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake for data management, ETL, and automation 
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Azure and SQL, including setup and configuration 
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure services related to database management and monitoring 
  • Proficient in managing user roles, access, and permissions in both Snowflake and SQL Server 
  • Experience with database tuning and performance optimization 
  • Ability to create automated workflows and scripts for deployment and testing 
  • Understanding of data cleansing, deduplication, and validation processes

Skills (Good to Have) 

  • Experience with Matillion or similar ETL tools 
  • Exposure to Azure dashboards, alerts, and automation tools (e.g., Logic Apps, Monitoring) 
  • Familiarity with data warehouse best practices and architecture 
  • Basic knowledge of Power BI or other reporting tools 
  • Experience with cost optimization techniques for cloud-based systems 
  • Relevant certifications in Snowflake, Azure, or SQL Server
